Academic Freedom

Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School adheres to the 1940 Statement of Principles on Academic Freedom and Tenure of the American Association of University Professors. This statement is available from the Associate Dean.

Smoking Policy

Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School is a smoke-free working and study environment.

Use of Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School Name and/or Logo

No student or student organization may use the AJMLS name or logo for commercial purposes without written consent. Permission will not be granted to individuals. Student organizations may receive permission if:

  1. The name or logo is used in connection with fundraising which benefits that organization or the school and is not duplicative of others; and
  2. The specific use is set forth in the request (e.g. t-shirts, cups, key rings, etc.); and
  3. The use is appropriate as determined by the Marking Office.

The grant or denial of permission is discretionary. Write to marketing@johnmarshall.edu for permission.

Compliance with Federal Regulations

Non-discrimination policy

Consistent with sound educational policy, Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, in compliance with Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 (45 CFR 86), and Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and other best practices, does not discriminate on the basis of sex, handicap, disability, race, color, religion, age, national or ethnic origin, marital status, veteran status, political affiliation or belief, gender identity, gender expressions, or sexual or affectional preference in the law school’s educational programs, admissions policies, employment policies, or other school administered programs. Inquiries concerning these policies should be directed to the Dean of the Law School.

Student records: Anyone with inquiries about the school’s compliance with student access and privacy rights regarding educational records, under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, should consult the Student Handbook or contact the Dean’s Office or the Student and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Office, U.S. Department of Education, Washington, D.C.

Reservation of Right to Modify

AJMLS reserves the right in its sole judgment to modify or change without prior notice any of its programs; tuition and fee schedules; academic schedule or calendar, including changes in course offerings, course content, and granting of credit; academic rules and standards; degree requirements; or rules affecting the admission and retention of students. It is not intended to be and should not be relied upon as a statement of AJMLS’s contractual undertakings, and no contract rights are intended to be created by this document.
