Academic Achievement and Bar Success (AABS)
Supplemental Bar Support
Studying for the bar exam is not something that you have to do alone without support and expert advice. After graduation, alumni are provided with an opportunity to participate in the bar success program. The supplemental bar success program is not intended to be a substitute for a commercial bar review but rather is intended to be an added benefit and support program to alumni sitting and preparing for the upcoming bar exam.
Project 470
Project 470 is a new pilot program launched in November 2020. It is a supplemental bar success program designed specifically for first-time takers and is available on an opt-in basis. Visit this page to learn more about the program.
Career Services and Professional Development (OCSPD)
Whether you just passed the bar or are looking for a new position, OCSPD is always more than willing to help alumni members polish their resumes and cover letters. Needing to refresh your job interview skills? Reach out to OCSPD for job interview tips.
Looking for a job or know of a job opening at your firm? OCSPD uses 12Twenty, as their Career Center resource. Search for jobs based on location, practice area, or position. Additionally, help fellow alumnus by sharing your firm/organization/office’s job opportunity on the 12Twenty platform.
Development and Alumni Relations
Georgia Bar Lunches
As a convenience to our alumni, AJMLS provides on-site lunches, both days, for all our alumni taking the Georgia bar exam at both administrations per year.
Local Swearing-in Ceremony
AJMLS will hold group swearing-in ceremonies for both the State Court system and the Georgia Supreme Court in November. Information about these swearing-in ceremonies will be shared in September.
SCOTUS Swearing-in Ceremony
Each year, the Dean will take up to 12 alumni so they can be sworn into the Supreme Court of the United States. Visit https://www.supremecourt.gov/bar/UpdatedAdmissionInstructions.pdf for more information about admission to the SCOTUS.
Law Library
Bar Study Area
In preparation for the bar exam, please remember the law library is available and it is a quiet and supportive environment.
Professional Legal Research Help
The law library has a wealth of resources for our alumni to use in their practice. In addition to a quiet environment to work in, the law library has many resources to assist our alumni when researching various legal issues. Alumni are always encouraged to reach out to a skilled research librarian if they ever have any legal research questions.
