Criminal Justice Lawyering
The Role of the Lawyer in Promoting Criminal Justice Reform. In this course students will study the ideals that define our criminal justice system, the challenges that interfere with the professional’s ability to realize these ideals and the role of the lawyer in confronting these challenges. The course will concentrate on the role of the prosecutor and defense counsel and consider strategies each might employ to live up to their obligations to the system in the face of systemic obstacles to do so.
