Professor Kathleen Burch Presents at the Micronesian Legal Services Corporation’s Annual Conference

Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School’s (AJMLS) Professor Burch received accolades for her training of Micronesian Legal Services Corporation’s (MLSC) attorneys and staff. On July 25th, Professor Burch provided training on Motions for Summary Judgments and on Laying a Proper Foundation for Exhibits at MLSC’s 2024 Annual Staff Training Conference. MLSC operates in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau providing legal services to underserved communities throughout the Pacific.

Professor Burch recently returned to campus from sabbatical where she served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Republic of Palau. During a previous sabbatical, she was Chief Legal Counsel to the Fourth Constitutional Convention of the Federated States of Micronesia.

A multi-decade educator at AJMLS, Professor Burch brings her work in Micronesia into the classroom providing students opportunities to explore the law and culture of Micronesia. She also assists students navigate the Micronesian Intensive Externship Program at the Law School.
